Background – The Purpose of This Document

Before we complete any work for you, we want to explain our services and how we charge for them. You can use this document to decide whether our services are right for you. It only takes a few minutes to read and contains important information.

Are Our Services Regulated?

Yes. Most of what we do is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Details of how we are regulated and the permissions we hold can be found in Section 1.

Our services relating to protection and general insurance are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). More information is in Section 1.

What Kind of Service Do We Offer?

We offer advice on life and health insurance products.

For most insurance advice we make recommendations from a range of insurers that is representative of the whole market. For some specialist insurance products, we offer advice from a narrower range or from single providers.

We do not give tax advice. Details of limitations can also be found in Section 2.

What Do We Charge for Our Services?

For insurance products, we receive commission from the product provider and do not charge separate fees.

What If You Have a Complaint?

We hope you will be happy with our service, but if something goes wrong we will do everything we can to resolve it. You also have access to our complaints procedures.

If you are still not happy, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

How Will We Handle Your Personal Data?

We keep your personal information private and confidential, even if you are no longer a client.

2. Our Services

What Type of Service Do We Offer?

We provide an advised service. This means we assess your needs and make personal recommendations for the areas of insurance where you have asked us to assist.

We act for you, not the insurer.

Our advice is based on your circumstances at the time it is given and on our understanding of current legislation.

Whose Products Do We Offer?

Insurance

We offer products from a range of insurers for:

• Term assurance
• Family income benefit
• Non-investment whole of life assurance
• Critical illness insurance
• Income protection
• Business protection insurance

This is based on a fair analysis of the market.

We only offer products from a limited number of insurers for Private Medical Insurance.
We also offer Group Private Medical Insurance.

Are There Any Limitations to Our Advice?

Our advice is limited to protection and insurance solutions from our range of providers.

We do not provide tax advice.

If you need advice about trusts, we provide general guidance only. For specific trust advice, you should consult a specialist adviser.

Your Duty to Provide Accurate Information

You must provide full and accurate information to us and to any product provider or lender.

Failure to disclose material information could invalidate insurance or result in applications being declined.

We rely on the information you have given us. We cannot be responsible for inaccuracies caused by changes you did not inform us about.

3. Our Fees and Charges

Insurance

We do not charge a fee for our insurance services. We receive commission from the product provider, calculated as a proportion of premiums paid.

Your quotation will show any fees or charges relating to the policy we recommend.

Client Confidentiality

We keep all your personal information private and confidential in line with data protection legislation.

Electronic Verification of Identity

We are required by law to verify your identity. This may include verifying:

• Who you are
• Where you live
• Beneficial owners, directors or partners if you are a business

We may carry out electronic identity checks using credit reference agencies. These checks leave a footprint but do not affect your credit score.

6. Other Important Information

Payments to Us

You should only make payments to us for fees we have directly charged. We do not accept cash.

Payments to product providers should be made directly.
We are not authorised to hold client money.

Conflicts of Interest

If a conflict of interest arises that may affect you, we will:

• Confirm if our procedures are not sufficient to mitigate those risks

We will provide enough information for you to make an informed decision about whether to proceed.
